You've Probably heard about key cloning and how they steal your car here are the facts. Keyless cars unlock automatically when their key is physically close to the car. Smart criminals are using relay devices to make car systems believe a key is nearby by cloning its signal. They intercept and then relay the signal from the key using two receiver/transmitters..

most vehicles are constantly looking for the keyless entry key and vica versa, its not difficult for thieves to intercept this signal

The German General Automobile Club (ADAC) tested 237 keyless cars. Thieves could trick 230 of them into believing that your car key is closer than it really is, thus enabling them to unlock and start your car.    scary isn't it ?

Its important to keep your keys as far away as possible from your can when its at home, investing in a faraday pouch or a safe that shields the radio signal is a good investment.

However

This isn't much good when your out and about, the car behind you could be following you and when you pull up and lock your car .... bang they have the code

you then walk into the shops, they put a small tracker on your car and boom..... that evening your car is gone,  sounds scary however it happens all the time.

What can be done ?  As a close friend of mine pointed out,  you shouldn't have to spend extra money on a car that you've just paid tens of thousands of pounds for

which i do agree, however ......  Welcome to the world of today !

There are options which can greatly reduce the chance of having your vehicle stolen ultimately its all about time I've seen videos of a range rover being stolen from a driveway in Epsom took 57 seconds !

We install van deadlocks and my example is as follows, if you had 5 vans all the same four had no extra security locks and one did which do you think would get broken into first ?

The same applies to YOUR vehicle, if they open it by key cloning and try and start it and it wont start they wont hang about to try and find out why, BECAUSE the longer they are there the more chance they have of being spotted by you a neighbor or anyone else !
